Tucson has spoken … and Magpies Gourmet Pizza has once again been voted as the reigning pizza king of Tucson. Tucson Weekly’s annual Best of Tucson issue named Magpies as "Tucson’s Best Pizza" for the 20th straight year!
That means we’ve won this title every single year we’ve been open for business. This accomplishment would not be possible without our loyal followers, who, year after year, are dedicated to making sure Magpies is tops in the pizza category. In fact, the “Best Pizza" category is one of the top three categories annually for number of votes collected.
Never did Magpies imagine after 20 years of business, they would still be saucing and tossing their way to the top. But, it is hard to compete with our diverse pizza menu, distinctive flavors, and fresh ingredients and cheeses. Today, we continue to grow our great-tasting pizza empire throughout Arizona.
Tucson Weekly has a readership of nearly 200,000 and the annual Best of Tucson™ issue is one of the largest compilations of its kind.
Devotees of New York-style pizza – with thin crust, red sauce, lots of cheese and a topping or two – may squirm at the huge, transcontinental-leaning menu at Magpies. But Magpies offers just what the name says – gourmet pizza – and even the biggest pizza snob would have to admit that Magpies makes a damn tasty pie. With a huge selection of styles, multiple toppings, and several alternate sauces and crusts, Magpies has an actual menu, not just a handful of choices. Add in salads, calzones, hot bread sticks and microbrews, and it's hard to imagine someone not finding something to suit them at Magpies. The patio on Fourth Avenue is a bonus.
